Laura Pickett

I started Tickled Pink Productions in 2002 and built it to be the biggest national touring theatre company for care homes and community venues in the country. I have written, produced, directed and choreographed 35 shows touring to care homes, community venues and primary schools across UK and the company has performed in over 3500 venues with over half for people with additional learning needs, autism, neuro diversity and dementia.

I set up all systems used for the business & managed all logistics of each tour - 5 shows a year with 2 - 8 teams per show and managed and recruited all performers & office staff ensuring all standards are set and met.

I spent over a decade performing in the shows.

Established theatre school for children aged 2–18, providing expert instruction in singing, dancing, and acting. Wrote the full curriculum, organised shows, community events, and administered all aspects of the business and financial operations. Liaised pupil progress with parents.

Tickled Pink Kiddie Winks (pre-school music, drama, and imagination classes).

Cultivated confidence by encouraging students to recognise and value personal achievements, with termly awards ceremonies.

Assisted in implementing themed drama workshops in primary schools throughout London to align with current curriculum.
Supported activities that revolved around historical themes like the Great Fire of London, Greeks, Romans, World War II, Tudors, and Victorians to boost student engagement.
Contributed to educational outcomes by incorporating creative storytelling in sessions centered on fairy tales, Shakespeare, and the Easter story.

Planned and delivered engaging musical theatre lessons for children aged 4-11, enhancing confidence, coordination, and fitness in an inclusive manner. Built positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues while providing constructive feedback on student progress.

Facilitated weekly drama and dance classes throughout London for children aged 4-7. Supported parents and caregivers by providing updates on pupil progress.

Facilitated weekly drama workshop sessions, empowering girls at Harry Gosling Primary School in Tower Hamlets by addressing early misogyny and sexism.

Spearheaded educational tours to infant schools in England and Scotland, showcasing Elmer the Elephant and Elmer & the Lost Teddy. Orchestrated drama workshops post-performance, fostering creativity and participation among young audiences. Nurtured children's appreciation for literature through immersive storytelling experiences.
