Laila-mai Ratcliffe

This position was at Rockabelles hair salon as a 'Saturday girl'. The role consisted of assisting and supporting the shop floor by greeting customers, making sure they felt comfortable, offering them drinks and prepping them towards the location for treatment and making sure they were comfortable.

Over time I learnt some independent skills which was being responsible for take the clients foils out , how to properly wash and prep hair for any kind of care afterwards. I also gained experience and knowledge in how to safely and correctly mix colouring agents. I also Supported senior staff during busy periods to maintain punctuality with scheduled appointments/work load.

At Hopping Hill Primary school I learnt a variety of skills, competence and understanding in how to care for younger children in a safe environment.

These were skills such as:

• Engaging in play scenarios to encourage imaginative thinking amongst children and promoting positive role modelling behaviour.
• Enhance communication skills by applying language development through storytelling sessions.
• Assisted the teachers with daily structure and routine to safely and effectively uphold the classroom operation.
• Enhanced children's social skills through organising group activities.
• Promoted a safe and stimulating environment by managing nursery resources effectively.
