I am a qualified trainer through Highfield and have designed from scratch a Senior Investigating officer's course for roads policing which is a two- week course including a one-week hydra element. This took me eighteen months to build and commission and I have now delivered this course to students from across the UK and within force. The course was quality assured by assessors.
I have also regularly delivered CPD to personnel within my force and to others externally for family liaison, road scene managers and SIO.
I have designed from scratch a four -week traffic law course and have delivered this to students within force.
I have vast experience in the investigation world having investigated major investigations for many years as a Senior Investigating Officer. With this I bring not only a wealth of experience and scenarios but also the accredited training to back this up.
I have also sat on interview boards for special constables and new officers to my specialism having been fully trained in interview selection.
I assessed professional development portfolios regularly and am was a trained tutor for detectives. I was sitting on the national and regional working boards for my field of specialism and have influenced working practices and standards nationally and regionally.
I have carried out a major review of four police forces who were collaborated and completed a large report for them.
I have also reviewed investigations for other forces and have investigated major incidents for other forces.
I regularly reviewed all our investigations and compiled detailed reports on these to ensure quality is maintained.
I co-ordinated family liaison officers and have liaised with the charities Brake and road peace. Within this role i looked after the welfare of officers and helped families through sign posting and the processes after bereavment.
My main motivation now is to continue helping others and to pass all my knowledge and experience onto other people.

I drive VIP clients on behalf of the company all over the country, and work to very strict guidelines and competing demands. I have passed a private hire driving test to do this role and achieved a Hackney carriage licence with enhanced DBS.
I ran a team within the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) as a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) managing investigations and attending Fatal and serious collision scenes for thirteen and a half years. Within that time I became the office manager of the serious collision investigation unit responsible for the training of new senior investigating officers, road scene managers and officers new to the unit. I also organised and ran continuous personal development training for internal and external personnel. I designed and built a full senior investigators course a which was run for internal and external students and successfully delivered this course nationally and internally. I also travelled to Bermuda in 2022 delivering the course to 18 students. The course is on the Essex police brochure. I also reviewed all the fatal investigations having a keen eye for detail and concentrating on disclosure, processes and policy. I was a family liaison coordinator for family liaison officers managing their deployments to bereaved families and managing their welfare. I regularly met with bereaved families offering them support and signposting them to welfare services. I also oversaw investigations and managed the daily running of the office. I also managed the development of officers and their performance and designed numerous excel spreadsheets to monitor these areas. I regularly selected officers at interview boards. The role I did was certainly working at a higher rank and pay grade for what the amount and level of work I performed.
Prior to working in SCIU I was a roads policing sergeant and constable and worked at various Road policing bases all over the county. I was a road scene manager among other things managing all manner of collisions and investigations. Before I joined RPU I was a general policing constable serving at Southend, Harlow, Loughton, Waltham abbey, Barkingside and Forest gate in the Metropolitan police. Prior to joining Essex police in 2000 i was in the Metropolitan police working in the east end of London and attended my initial foundation training at Hendon Police college for 18 weeks.
Trained with the Parachute Regiment at Lichfield and Catterick and was awarded the champion recruit in training. I was trained in map reading, weapon handling, first aid, military discipline and drill, radios, heavy weaponry, field craft, nuclear , biological and chemical warfare , fitness, platoon and company tactics, and many other skills.
I was responsible for ensuring all the ground support equipment for the aircraft operations was functioning at all times. I serviced equipment, manufactured parts and conducted all types of engineering functions, including, hydraulics, engines, pneumatic s and electronics. The work was varied and high pressured and very responsible ensuring aircraft could operate within the airport.
I was trained as a serviceman in basic training and then in trade training was trained as a ground support engineer. This role was highly varied working on engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, aircraft arrestor systems and all other types of ground equipment. I was also trained in airfield defence in time of war and was trained to handle weapons, conduct chemical . warfare, first aid and numerous other skills. I was promoted to Senior aircraftsman within my service.
