As a funeral arranger I definitely developed skills in multi tasking and being able to work professionally in a challenging environment was also highly important
I have good telephone skills
Can pick things up quickly ie learning a new computer system
I work well as a team but can also go on my own initiative when required.
Both this and the pharmacy role meant I was working within my local community and this was probably what I enjoyed most.
I am very chatty and love meeting new people which is why I am looking for a new challenge
* Looked after the deceased in my care with dignity and respect
* Consulted with bereaved families to arrange a funeral
* Consulted with families again after a funeral to arrange scattering of ashes or gravestones
* Made sure all the funeral arrangements came together in a timely fashion so that everything was ready by the day of the service this included completing all the relevant paperwork as well as liaising with third parties to order flowers, coffins, vehicles and service sheets
* Reviewed company policies regularly, aligning them with changing legal requirements.
* Signposted clients to other external services such as bereavement counselling or prepaid funeral plans
* Handled telephone enquiries politely and efficiently
* Kept all records up to date on the company computer system
In 2020 I was nominated for funeralcare employee of the year making it to the final 6 out of over 1000 members of staff in 300 branches
