Work history

Project Manager – Capital Delivery

Network Rail
07.2022 - 09.2025
  • Leading delivery of £170m programme to enhance and reconfigure the 25kV traction power distribution system across Central Scotland as key enabler for decarbonising Scotland’s Railway for the future growth of electric train services by 2025
  • Delivery of multi-discipline programme of 6 new feeder stations and 8 TSCs requiring extensive stakeholder engagement across multiple local authority areas
  • Driven an £8m efficiency in programme to date
  • Traction Power – Rolling Programme of Decarbonisation

Project Manager – Capital Delivery

Network Rail
01.2022 - 07.2022
  • I successfully delivered a £6m programme of GI/SI to inform the future electrification
  • I led engagement with key stakeholders and secured consents to undertake works in Cairngorms National Park
  • Delivered a 20% efficiency by optimising scope and employing PACE principles
  • Highland Main Line Electrification

Project Manager – Capital Delivery

Network Rail
05.2019 - 12.2021
  • I successfully led a team that, until paused by the client, delivered the projects contained as part of the PoNE programme. I led the development of a PACE design utilising multiple suppliers and designers in a hub and spoke contracting strategy
  • I was responsible for leading a team of NR and key framework partners to deliver the AFC efficiency required by the client to meet the industry wide post-covid cost challenge.
  • I delivered an expanding, staggered scope which required to be integrated as each stage while clearly articulating the interdependencies between schemes and report cost and schedule adherence to key stakeholders
  • I undertook multiple strategic reviews of the PoNE and interlinked schemes and successfully resequenced the scope around the goal of ‘Putting Passengers and Freight First’. I secured support from key stakeholders and developed a nationally supported access strategy which minimised disruption and received positive feedback from TOCs/FOCs and other NR functions
  • I set an ethical example of how my team would behave, while also challenging and empowering them to drive improvements and safely deliver the scope
  • Growing the Lothians and Borders (GLAB) / Portobello to Newcraighall Enhancements (PoNE)

Project Manager - IPSNE

Network Rail
05.2015 - 04.2019
  • I led the delivery of SDA Civils programme of works which successfully delivered bridge reconstructions, parapet modifications, major stations platform works, extensive boundary works and lineside structure demolitions. All works required to deliver energisation were completed ahead of schedule.
  • Stirling Station is Grade A listed and I secured planning consent from Stirling Council and Historic Environment Scotland for all Electrification works while also delivering a long-standing aspiration of creating step-free access to all platforms using additional 3rd party funding
  • I led the development and implementation of the CDM safety critical documentation. This included a unique, bespoke Project Safety Strategy that articulated how multiple Principle Contractors can safely and efficiently deliver a programme of works with NR acting as integrator and controlling authority
  • I managed the delivery of the Route Clearance programme of works. This project has successfully delivered 41 bridge works and 8 track lowers.
  • SDA Electrification
