I served in the Army with the Second Battalion, Royal Yorkshire Regiment , and during my service was stationed in Catterick, Cyprus, Chester , and various other training areas. I took part in multiple operational deployments, including Operation Kipion and Operation Carriageway , both conducted in Cyprus at RAF Akrotiri .

Upon returning to the UK, I was based at Fox Barracks in Chester, where I completed a week‑long course on drones . This included training on various drone types such as suicide and observation drones , frequency detection radios , and the use of an anti‑drone gun . I also received advanced weapon‑handling training , conducting live and dry‑fire exercises with rifle plat forms, pistol and anti drone guns

OP CARRIAGEWAY

Supported Operation CARRIAGEWAY at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus , as part of 2/3 Section, Corunna Company, 2 YORKS. Assisted in the safe and orderly escort of Afghan nationals from holding areas to aircraft, maintaining airfield security and preventing unauthorised access. Operation completed with zero casualties and no disruption to flight operations.

OP KIPION

Operation Kipion was conducted in Cyprus at RAF Akrotiri , supporting the RAF with stag duties on top‑secret assets and equipment within a hangar. Access was restricted to authorised personnel with valid identification to ensure the safety and security of both the location and the equipment inside. Duties also included stagging within the camp perimeter to maintain overall site security.
