I am a 28 year old House Manager currently employed by Anheddau Cyf based in the region of Gwynedd looking to further my career, I have over 5 years of experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties, autism, bowel issues & epilepsy to live fulfilled, independent and joyful lives within their communities and their homes. Since joining Anheddau in June of 2020 as a support worker and progressing to House Manager in February 2023 I have gained strong leadership skills, performance and operational management skills aligned with high quality person centred delivery.

In my current role I manage six members of staff and ensure that the care they deliver is to the highest of standards, respectful and always tailored to the individual we support. I ensure the care given is person centred and tailored to the individuals needs and wishes. I always ensure compliance to regulations and requirements such as RISCA are also put into place within my work and followed at all times promoting safe and dignified care is given. I oversee daily operations and performance by monitoring the quality of care by reviewing the work carried out by staff weekly, checking over my own work and improving wherever I can as I am eager to learn and improve myself and my team. I build and maintain positive relationships within my work internal colleagues and externally with health professionals and family members by working collaboratively to coordinate services and deliver outcomes aligned with the individuals outcomes and families wishes.

I also take pride in ensuring my staff are well look after by offering debrief after challenging shifts, supervisions every three months or when requested and also appraisals at least once a year ensuring we as a team are all working towards the same goals for the individual, I do this by promoting a culture of engagement, participation, inclusion and supporting them to encourage others they could potentially shadow new staff or work in different houses.

In my current role as house manager I am well equipped at having difficult conversations, dealing with complaints and compliments and dealing with issues head on and not letting situations fade into the backgrounds in hopes that they will go away, my experience here at Anheddau has equipped me with strong leadership skills, confidence to try new things, operational understandings and a commitment to strive to success and positive outcomes.
