I have completed a week of work experience with the NHSBSA (National Health Service Business Service Authority)
The Counter-Fraud Department was split into two different roles: the proactive officer and the reactive officer. The proactive side of counter fraud involves investigating documents such as passports, driving licenses, bank statements etc. The reactive side of counter-fraud includes interviewing the suspect of fraud and to be a witness in magistrates court if necessary. The proactive side requires an attention to detail and analytical skills which are skills that I required across this experience. The reactive side of this department requires communication skills and an ability to collaborate and work as a team
The Financial Transformations Team taught us about the importance of efficiency to the success of the NHSBSA. The main goal of this team was to develop strategies to cut costs and volume of resources used so they can be allocated somewhere more necessary and to save the taxpayer money
And lastly, the Commercial Services Team. The Commercial Services Team is responsible for the procurement of raw materials used by the NHS and NHSBSA and for the management of contracts necessary for the negotiation included in the procurement of these resources
I believe that this work experience I have taught or developed many transferrable skills that could make me useful to a business
