I am a State Registered Health professional Occupational Therapist (OT) an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive expertise in clinical leadership, management, and organisational development. I also have project management and business management experience through setting up and running an apprenticeship for mental health service user with lived experience of mental health. I gained senior management experience through running large multidisciplinary teams. I demonstrate advanced clinical training and quality assurance auditing skills, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. I have extensive working knowledge of regional and national health social care frameworks, legislations and quality frameworks. These include the Mental Health Act 1983 (revised in 2007), Community Care Act 1990, Care Programme approach (CPA), Equality Act and Disability and Discrimination Act and NHS long term plan. Leading services through the Southwark transformation as Head of OT and Clinical service lead is evidence of my working knowledge. I also Chair the Southwark funding panel and contribute to decision making about funding for client placements like support living and Packages of Care (POC) to support them in the community.
Fundamental to the success of my previous and present roles, I have confidently communicated effectively in a variety of forms. I am a caring,
empathetic, friendly and an approachable person with good interpersonal skills. I am able to build supportive relationships with all the people I work with. A good example of this is my close working relationship with colleagues from social care, Integrated care board (ICB) as part of the Southwark funding panel. I thrive on building professional relationships and strive to ensure I encourage team working. I have experience of working in partnership with a wide variety of different agencies and NHS providers. Through Clinical practices, I have developed proficient specialised patient care techniques, healthcare policy understanding, and proactive communication. Strong advocate for patient rights with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and compassionate care. I have experienced in staff training, conflict management, performance management, and duty delegation. I have a high level of competency with using computer systems. I regularly use Electronic Patient Journey System (ePJs) to facilitate and maintain communication within the team and with other relevant professional involved in the service user’s care. I have significant practical experience of information technology software and I am a competent user of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Share point. Integral to all my roles was the frequent and efficient use of the systems on SLAM intranet and emails.
