The Role

Working between two STHF (short term holding facilities) across the Home Office contract in Dover KIU (Kent Intake Unit) and Frontier House in Folkestone, My role as DCO is to ensure Residents at the facilities experience exceptional standards of care, safety, security and dignified care and respect during their time in detention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely escorting residents from their point of arrival and/or detention in the country to various facilities within the contract.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team during high volume arrival days to provide the safest and most secure environment for residents during a particularly vulnerable period in their lives.
  • Managing conflicts amongst residents with diplomatic intervention techniques, using verbal communication to de-escalate tensions. 'HOMES' trained and certified.
  • Collaborating efficiently with law enforcement agencies to ensure safety at all times.
  • Liaising effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medical assistance for detainees as required.
  • Training new staff members effectively, leading to their rapid integration into the team.

The Role

Hired as the companies first Business Development Manager, I had complete end-to-end management of the sales cycle and managed a small team of 3. Main objective - Negotiate with stakeholders at all levels to bring in correctly profiled accounts from new and existing markets to use Dynamic Conferences & Events as their exclusive global events partner.

Achievements/Highlights:

  • Signed 4 major clients in my tenure, one of which I signed on for a further 2 years in a multi event partnership, committing their APAC and LATAM conferences to Dynamic Conferences & Events. Deal size from £40k-£110k GP.
  • Implemented an entire new sales strategy for the business based on ‘value first' principles.
  • I lead the company into live webinars, corporate forums, and speaking engagements, as part of a strategic initiative aimed at expanding our client base.
  • Built an active and robust pipeline of over 400 accounts from 6 new vertical markets.

  • The Role: Working for a company based in Belgium, I was solely responsible for launching Transposafe into the UK logistics market. A pure B2B Hunting role, balancing the complex portfolio of products and ascertaining the best markets of opportunity for Transposafe and collaborating with Parent company (Brady Corp) to find collaborative solutions to a brand new customer base.

  • Achieved 108% of £150k GP revenue target. Signed 2 Major Accounts (+£50k GP per annum)
  • Collaborating with marketing department to create Transposafe first product brochure, website with customer portal and marketing blog.

  • I had the highest retention rate of all AE's in the south during covid, only losing 4 clients out of a ledger of over 70 during this period

Football and Golf obsessed, despite being fairly inadequate at both! If I can’t play, I’ll be in attendance watching the professionals, Film nerd and not in a good way, obsessed with plot holes and continuity errors, pausing it when I’ve spotted a relatively unknown actor because I’ve ‘seen them in something else’, Fancy myself as a bit of a culinary wonder! My specialities are main courses and savoury dishes while my wife bakes the sweet treats, I love to have a laugh, my nights out with friends consist of comedy clubs, pub chats, beer festivals and friendly competition over darts, pool, indoor golf
