In my current role, I am responsible for the welfare of Offenders overnight on the wing.

This includes dealing with any issues that may occur, from health issues to self harm. I need to assess straight away the severity of the incident , decide if it is an issue for onsite healthcare or if an ambulance is required.

Then I will write up the report of the incident and communicate it the the relevant departments using the IT system. i also update the case notes of the offender and submit an internal report of the incident.

Sometimes nothing more is required than lending a sympathetic and empathic ear, just proving reassure to a person in need or crisis.
