Improving the quality of our sight ultimately improves our quality of life, allowing independence to flourish—whether that means clearly seeing the board at school or driving to work without straining our eyes. This belief is what first drew me to optometry and continues to motivate me throughout my studies.

I am a second-year Optometry student with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. What fascinates me most about optometry is that it extends far beyond the stereotypical role of prescribing lenses; it involves the early detection and prevention of serious health conditions through comprehensive eye examinations.

Alongside my studies, I have worked as a Trainee Optical Consultant at Boots Opticians, where I have had the privilege of witnessing the dedication, precision, and teamwork that underpin effective patient care and accurate diagnosis. These experiences have strengthened my clinical awareness, communication skills, and appreciation for collaborative working within healthcare settings.

I am a resilient, determined, and hardworking student who values teamwork and meaningful one-to-one interactions with patients and colleagues. I take pride in ensuring patients feel supported, informed, and comfortable, and I am motivated to continue developing my skills with the aim of becoming a passionate and competent optometrist.

• Speaker - I deliver presentations to educate others on the history and importance of Sikh celebrations.
• Reading - I love to read about historical events in Sikh history and often conduct my own research with other associates to advance my academic knowledge
• Embroidery - I am skilled at sewing and often make embroidered wall art
