Jane Avon

I am a highly committed Teaching Assistant who focuses on supporting the diverse needs of all children. I am a very caring compassionate professional with many years of experience of working with moderately and severely disabled children.

My main role is to support the children with their physical, emotional and everyday needs.

I build a great relationship with the children, parents and work colleagues. I work extremely well in a team setting.

I encourage the children to participate in different tasks according to their capabilities and make sure I provide a safe environment for them. I help the children with eating, drinking, and dressing and always encourage independence.

I support children in all forms of support equipment eg standers, work chairs and wedges.

I assist in managing challenging behaviour and offer emotional support whilst respecting student's personal space.

I follow all the school policies and have had lots of training on safeguarding, well being and legal protections to ensure children are safe from harm.

I always create a friendly, positive and inspiring learning environment for the children.
