I am now currently employed by priory adult care , this is supporting 3 girls with high level of care working on a 2-1 basis , the girls can be very challenging but have learned the tools to deal in dangerous situations , i have done my boots medication training so can give medication following the MAR sheet , i have done my midazolam training and first aid and will be doing my moving and handling training , i support the girls trying to prompt as much independent living as possible and following a nurish system updating notes throughout the day on girls moods , food and activities i enjoy doing this as part of team
In the priory adult care i work with 3 girls who all have different needs. 2 of the girls i work with have autism , epilepsy and non verbal and the other girl has personality disorder and cerabal palsy, the girls have all different needs and different ways to communicate which i help girls with strips with pictures on them and symbol cards to help girls show us what their wants and needs are , i prepare meals and do activities with the girls as the girls are 24/7 care working on a 2-1 per girl , the girls can be challenging at times being aggressive and frustrated at times . i have became very close with the girls and know different tools that helps keep girls calm this includes certain phrases to be said that the girl finish and removing anything that can harm girls out of their way and giving them their space , i encourage the girls as much independent living as i can by prompting them to help make bed , put washing away and different activities to try and get the girls to engage . i have done my medication training so can administer girls medication following mar sheet and we also use a system called nurish to document food intake , activities and girls mood throughout the day we work as part of a team with 5 girls on shift so work closely to make sure the girls are getting the best care and enjoy being part of this.
