As Pharmacy Dispenser, the main tasks consisted of:

• Receiving and storing medications coming into the pharmacy,
• Assembling needed medication for incoming prescriptions,
• Maintaining stock of medications to ensure customer safety (expired, unsealed etc.),
• Keep records and maintain inventory of drugs,

The objective of these tasks usually being to facilitate the role of the Pharmacist or ensure that patients are healthy and safe.

I was equally put in charge of the pharmacies' NHS system, ensuring the business could claim back costs on prescribed drugs, medications and treatments, this process being a fundamental part of a pharmacy's revenue.

I acquired a huge amount of knowledge about the working world from this job, namely the importance of rigorousness and efficience when working, as I could afford to make little to null mistakes at this job.

I underwent a three week non-remunerated course as a waiter at Rivington restaurant in Greenwich as part of an apprenticeship. This being my first experience in the catering industry, I was relatively quickly required to learn good verbal communication and the ability to sell to the customers needs, fundamentals needed to thrive in this environment. The significance of excellent customer service, which is paramount in any industry, enterprise or business is all that more crucial in this profession.

Tasks as a waiter ranged widely but examples included maintaining customer satisfaction with timely table check-ins to assess food and beverage needs, but also, keeping server areas clean and stocked to increase efficiency while working tables. I was also naturally required to lay tables before opening hours and arrival of customers, more specifically folding napkins and preparing silverware.

I completed a two week apprenticeship as assistant freight forwarder at Europa Worldwide Logistics Group. During those two weeks I was instructed on what the main duties performed by freight forwarders was, and taught how to perform them myself, these duties included:

• Maintaining open communication with global locations and transport vehicles to facilitate smooth collaboration,
• Used online tracking spreadsheets to monitor information about customers, shipments and business activities,
• Being aware of different customs duties upon goods transported throughout Europe,
• Stayed on top of shipment locations and current status to update offices and customers.

This apprenticeship was especially of interest to me as I was marveled by the investments made by the company in advanced and highly performant technological systems / machines, with the aim of optimizing efficiency through increased organization.
