My career goal is to become a biomedical scientist. I have had the opportunity to rotate through several key biomedical science disciplines, including blood transfusion, haematology and microbiology, during a one month placement (Nov 11th-Dec 13th 2024) at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This experience allowed me to engage in hands on laboratory work, enhance my practical skills and deepen my understanding of various biomedical science areas. Collaborating closely with training officers and laboratory staff, I gained valuable insights into the daily operations of a hospital laboratory and the critical role of a biomedical scientist. Additionally, I participated in a day long tour at Royal Oldham Hospital (Apr 4th 2024), where I observed the daily responsibilities of biomedical scientists across different laboratories. These experiences broadened my perspective on the diverse functions within the field and reinforced my commitment to pursuing a career in biomedical science.
I am hardworking, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. I can manage various responsibilities, whilst maintaining high standards and a friendly demeanour. I work well independently or as part of a team. Possessing strong communication and listening skills makes me an excellent candidate to be a part of an internship program. By utilizing my skill sets to contribute to overall patient care, I am eager to contribute to Kings College Hospital’s Synnovis laboratory services.
