Summary

I am an F2 currently working as part of the palliative care team at a UK hospice, soon to rotate to an Emergency department of a UK district general hospital. During employment, I have gained experience in acute medical, surgical, and emergency settings. My clinical interests include infectious diseases and global health, for which I have conducted audits, presented internationally, and completed an intercalated degree. I am seeking a Resident Medical Officer role (PGY3+ equivalent in a medical or emergency setting. I am a dual UK and Australian Citizen, and am AHPRA eligible under the competent authority pathway. This application forms part of a joint application with Dr Francesca Groom.

  • Assessed and managed palliative care emergencies, including the arrangement of hospital transfer and consideration of patient and family wishes for care escalation.
  • Tackled difficult discussions with patients and relatives regarding resuscitation, treatment escalation, and advanced care planning.
  • Engaged with weekly multidisciplinary meetings, which included the utilisation of specialist services to meet complex patient needs.
