I am currently writing and developing a play which is an absurd, psychological thriller, with the support of a theatre director. The play has undergone multiple workshops and rehearsed readings with the ambition of it becoming a professionally staged production. I am currently supporting my day-to-day writing with part time work.
I love TV and watch it avidly and am now keen to transfer my existing playwriting skills to screen. I am particularly passionate about storytelling and eager to make it my full time profession. To support this, I have recently completed a screenwriting course at NFTS which has given me a solid foundation in structure and character, with particular focus on 'what makes a good story'; how to hit the ground running in the first opening minutes of TV, understanding the necessity of consistent story beats, knowing what a story is about and what it's really about, using character to engage audiences on an emotional level, strong dialogue and discovering what makes our particular version of this story unique.
