I am a student, currently studying towards my GSCE'S, who is very interested to begin a full time apprenticeship after having left secondary. I currently work in a pub, located in Old Town, where I have been working for the last 2 years each weekend. I thoroughly enjoy my part-job as I get to communicate with new and regular customers in which some I have created bonds with. Furthermore I have also developed friendships within this job and good relationships with my supervisors and managers. Due to having this job role since I was 14 years old I feel more confident in myself and communicating with people. This has helped me mature as a teenager. Overall, I am really methodical when it comes to organising things, which helps me keep track of everything.
Over the course of 3 days, I completed work experience at Nationwide Headquarters, located on Pipers Way, Swindon. During this time I was introduced to a variety of areas in Nationwide, including working in branch, early careers and HR.
Furthermore., in this experience I actively participated in a HR team meeting, contributing to discussions and decision-making processes. I also supported the implantation of new initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions based on the meeting outcomes. My involvement in these meetings helped give me a greater insight of a strong, working environment for a large company.
During my secondary experience I completed the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. In year 9 I done 6 months of volunteering at my local tennis club, learnt the new skill of independently baking and participating in a team sport over the course of 3 months. Completing this adventure with my friends was the best experience at secondary for me! I would love to hopefully complete more awards similar to this.
