Self-employed Van Delivery Driver

I currently work as a self-employed newspaper delivery driver for Smiths News, based in Scorrier. My hours of work are from 4am to approximately 8am, 7 days a week, packing and delivering newspapers from the depot in Scorrier to multiple retail outlets in Helston. This role requires me to be reliable, punctual and disciplined. I have the use of my own Ford Transit jumbo van which is fully insured for this type of work.

Also currently employed on a part-time basis as a school caretaker/handyman at Richard Lander secondary school in Truro. My hours of work are from 6pm until 10pm, Monday to Friday, through RX+ employment agency. My duties and responsibilities are widespread and varied and include all of the following: litter picking, mopping up of spillages, emptying of external bins, gathering of recycling for collection, light electrical works, light plumbing works, painting and decorating, utility meter reading, drain and gutter inspections/cleaning, reparations of damages to buildings (internally & externally), legionella monitoring, fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher checking, liaising with on-site contractors, filling out of risk-assessment forms, locking/unlocking of schools premises, site security patrols (including setting / un-setting of intruder alarms) and the regular updating of site premises manuals in compliance with the output specifications of the Cornwall Council PFI2 contract.
October 2005 - January 2023
I worked for Interserve FM (now Mitie) for over 17 years as a mobile caretaker/handyman where I was entrusted with a works van, fully equipped with tools and materials to face almost any situation which may arise at any one of the company's 17 school premises, from fires to flooding. My duties were the same as listed above.
