Summary

As a highly motivated, loyal and passionate sports development professional, I have a wide range of operational, developmental and strategic experience gained primarily through my professional career. Over the years, I have gained significant partnership experience and pride myself on my values - my primary approach, which has been consistent, has been to lead, empower, support and coach others whilst assessing and making informed and balanced decisions to meet partner and business need. I have a history of success at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude and impact, ensuring accountability and focus on agreed outcomes. I am always seeking to take on greater responsibilities to meet organisational goals. I am an energetic and loyal employee well-versed in strong communication, leading group discussions and driving areas of work. As a dedicated team player, I am also proactive and hands-on in task completion when required. I am committed, with exceptional leadership, organisational skills and communication abilities to lead high-performing cross-functional teams. I am proud of my journey to date both at sportscotland and within local partners previously, and am keen to build upon those skills and experiences over the coming years. I have a breadth of experience with local, national and third sector organisations, from operational delivery to strategic leadership, all with a focus on meeting customer, partner and/or organisational needs.

Interests

Sport has been a passion and a hobby since very young and I have always been involved in some capacity through school, university and my working life. Following playing football at a senior club level for 20 years, I continued involvement as a coach for a number of years.  In recent times, and now having turned to be a football fan only, I play golf as often as possible and volunteer as part of the scout movement to support the local leaders.   I am also a mentor for MCR pathways, a programme which supports care experienced young people throughout their secondary school experience, providing advice and guidance to help their journey onto further education.

For my social time, I try to surround myself with family and friends, and in between being a sporting taxi driver parent!
