Project: Reinforcement of the High Voltage Transmission Ring around Abuja Project (Agence Francaise de Developpment Financed)

Brought in to ensure delivery of AFD funded Reinforcement of the Transmission Ring around Abuja Project.

• Lead the team of about 20 different professionals ranging from Engineers, Environmentalists and Accountants in project environment resulting in 15% increase when compared against work plan.
• Work with Contractors, Consultants, Project Team members and other stakeholders both external and internal to achieve project development objectives and to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Implement comprehensive project management framework by establishing delivery transparency through regular progress meetings and site visits, introducing value-driven product roadmaps, and preparation and regular updates of procurement and work plans.
• Draft Terms of Reference for consultancy agreements, evaluate tenders and proposals, and conduct site inspections and project review meetings.
• Establish efficient and transparent payment processes reducing time frame for contractors’ payments by 30%.
• Made sure contractual obligations were met ahead of agreed service delivery.
• Negotiated contract terms for maximized client benefit and profit.

Some projects undertaken and completed in this project include:

• Construction of Complete New 2 X 60MVA, 132/33kV GIS Substation at Gwarimpa including laying of 1km 132kV Underground XPLE Cable and Termination of Same on the Existing 132kV SC Katampe – Suleja Transmission Line at an amount of US$9,835,165.86.
• Construction of Complete New 3x 60MVA 132/33kV Kuje Substation with 4 x 132kV Line Bays and 2 x 60MVA, 132/33kV Substation with 2x132kV Line Bays at Wumba/Lokogoma including about 5km 132kV Underground XLPE Cable from New Apo Substation to Wumba/ Lokogoma Substation, Abuja, Nigeria at an amount of US$26,197.382.86.

Project: Nigerian Electricity and Gas Improvement (NEGIP) Project (World Bank Financed)

• Led the procurement team and managed every aspect of project engagement, from requirement gathering, financing agreement negotiations, preparation of bidding documents, evaluation of tenders, signing of contracts, effectiveness and contract supervision and reporting reducing procurement period by 20%.
• Executed comprehensive procurement process for World Bank projects by preparing Procurement Notices, Plans, and Bidding Documents for various contracts.
• Engaged in contract negotiations and discussions, drafted contract agreements, maintained procurement records, and managed project filing in accordance with World Bank Standards.
• Mentored and motivated junior procurement staff to consistently meet and exceed department KPIs.
• Reviewed proposals and submitted reports to Management for selection.
• Advised and guided management teams on decision-making, enabling cost-effective tendering processes.
• Sourced and verified quotations from suppliers before initiating purchase processes.
• Worked with department heads to determine requirements for procurement activities.

Projects: Niger Basin Authority- Water Resources Development and Sustainable Ecosystem Management (WRDSEMP) Programme

I was part of the procurement team that assisted the Procurement Manager and the Unit that contributed to the procurement process with the following tasks:

• Preparing Procurement Notices and Plans in line with World Bank Guidelines.
• Developing Bidding Documents for International and National Competitive Bidding processes and Request for Proposals (RFP) for Quality Cost Based Selection of Consultants for Technical Assistances
• Engaging in contract negotiations, drafting Contract Agreements, maintaining procurement records, and facilitating contract management, including payment processes and amendments as necessary.
• Participating in Preparation of Procurement Plans for various World Bank Projects implemented by TCN-PMU for Consultancy Service, Goods and Works.
• Preparation of Contract Agreement documents for various Contracts under World Bank Funded Project.
• Keeping records of Procurement activities and Project Filing Management.
• Participating in Contract Management processes including facilitating smooth payment processes and amendment of contract agreements as required.
• Some projects undertaken and completed in this project include Design, Supply and Installation of Plants and Equipment for the Rehabilitation of Kainji Hydroelectric Power Plant, Nigeria at an amount of US$85,648,072.83.
• Rehabilitation of Spillway Discharge Channel and the Grouting of Auxiliary Dam No.3 at Jebba Hydroelectric Power Plant, Nigeria at an amount of EUR15,315,435.04

• Responsible for monitoring and updating daily generation profile and outages from the Distribution Zones of Nigeria for the Performance Management Department.
• Contributed to the organization by systematically collecting and compiling daily generation profiles from the National Control Center and outage reports from eleven Distribution Zones for weekly NEPA Management meetings, while also performing load flow studies and analyses using NEPLAN software to support informed decision-making and enhance operational efficiency
