I am a compassionate, reliable and motivated individual with a strong passion for animal welfare and a natural connection with animals. I have always felt a strong sense of responsibility for their wellbeing and am committed to pursuing a career where I can support their care. Alongside my current role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, I am funding my own course in Veterinary Support Assistance to develop my knowledge of animal health, clinical support and veterinary ethics. My role within a school environment requires many of the same qualities needed when working with animals, including compassion, patience, kindness and motivation to support the wellbeing of others. It also requires me to make decisions quickly, remain calm under pressure and adapt my approach to meet the needs of those in my care.
In my spare time, I help local farmers by caring for their dogs when they are away, including walking, feeding, playing with them and ensuring they remain mentally stimulated and well cared for. I take pride in providing reliable care so that owners feel comfortable knowing their beloved pets are in safe and responsible hands. I also support animal welfare by donating to a local animal charity weekly and offering support with feeding and care when needed. When I was younger, I attended horse riding lessons where I gained experience in hoof care, tacking up, stable cleaning, feeding and riding. These experiences have strengthened my compassion, responsibility and dedication to animal wellbeing, and I am eager to bring these qualities into a veterinary practice environment.
I am eager to bring my passion, hands-on experience, and dedication to animal welfare to support your veterinary team and provide the highest standard of care for every patient.
Through my role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, I have developed many transferable skills that are valuable in a veterinary environment I am trained in first aid and experienced in ensuring the safety, comfort and wellbeing of pupils in my care My role requires me to maintain clean, organised and safe environments, follow procedures carefully, and remain calm in busy situations I regularly adapt my approach to meet the individual needs of those in my care, demonstrating patience, understanding and flexibility I have also recently undertaken studies focused on animal health and care, including learning about clinical support and veterinary ethics These experiences, combined with my strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, as well as my passion for animal welfare, make me well suited to a Veterinary Care Assistant role
