Summary

I have had a passion for animals from a young age, and throughout my life I have gained valuable practical experience caring for a wide variety of animals. This has included taking responsibility for the daily care of rabbits, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, budgies, dogs, pigs, and goats. My responsibilities included feeding, cleaning enclosures, maintaining high standards of hygiene, monitoring health and behaviour, and ensuring the animals received appropriate exercise and enrichment. These experiences have taught me the importance of responsibility, patience, attention to detail, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare.

I have also assisted a neighbour during the lambing season, where I gained first-hand experience supporting the care of sheep and newborn lambs. This opportunity strengthened my understanding of animal health, welfare, and the importance of providing calm, compassionate care in a practical environment.

In addition to my animal care experience, I have developed excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills through my involvement in both sport and hospitality. Working in fast-paced environments has strengthened my ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicate confidently with a wide range of people, remain calm under pressure, and manage my time efficiently while maintaining a professional attitude.

Completing my Duke of Edinburgh's Award has further developed my resilience, independence, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Through the volunteering, physical, and expedition sections, I learned the importance of teamwork, perseverance, organisation, and taking responsibility while working towards challenging goals. These experiences have increased my confidence and prepared me to work effectively in demanding environments.

I am enthusiastic about beginning a career in veterinary care, where I can combine my passion for animals with my practical experience, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous learning. I am a reliable, compassionate, and hardworking individual who is eager to develop my knowledge and skills while providing the highest standard of care for animals and excellent support to both colleagues and clients.
