Work history

Emergency call handler

Wiltshire Police
Devizes, Wiltshire
10.2023 - Current

I currently work in the police control room at Wiltshire police where i started in October 2023. My job role contains dealing with high pressure calls, distressed victims and operating with other emergency services such as ambulance and fire to create a swift response. as well as this i operate lead control which involves dispatching officers to jobs and keeping up officer safety with passing new information consistently.

I have maintained a high level of accuracy in my calls such as confirming the data quality and providing correct information on the log for colleagues to pass to units on the ground. This is highly important in situations which are stressful for all parties involved and every detail is important to the victim and for officer safety. further to this, i will submit intel on the log for the relevant people involved such as waring markers and will do so in a timely manner.

Further to this, i have experience in speaking with other agencies such as ambulance, fire and mental health professionals. This involves passing clear, precise information making it easer for them to understand myself and pass on to their dispatch so all agencies can work together and reach the preferred outcome.

Finally, every day i help victims with opening up when times can be distressing for them and open up about the trauma in their life whether this is past or present and what they would like to do moving forward being victim led.

At McDonalds, job roles include wide range of areas such as lobby, cashier, taking orders for drive-thru, prepping orders/drinks and speaking directly to customers whilst making sure lines are flowing and deadlines are met.

Delivering excellent service by handling customer complaints professionally and efficiently and making sure they still walk away satisfied and with a smile, providing refunds or swapping out food items all whilst still efficiently taking further food orders or restocking items.

Due to limited staffing, sometimes it meant that i was alone on a station, this meant prepping orders and delivering to drive-thru whilst keeping up with times and competing with other franchises, still informing customers regarding promos to increase sale.

Further to this, I maintained guest safety, following food preparation protocols to ensure compliance with food safety laws and making sure of no cross contamination.
