

I am a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine with more than 18 years of progressive experience in critical care medicine across Uk and Egypt. My career has spanned tertiary teaching centres, with a track record of delivering high-acuity critical-care management, echocardiography-guided haemodynamic optimisation and multidisciplinary leadership.
I hold the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine, (and I am EDIC Examiner), MSc Critical Care Medicine (Cardiff University) and a Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound (Middlesex University), Egyptian Board in Emergency Medicine, and I am an Associate Member of Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine ( UK)
• Providing consultant-level management of critically ill patients across the Trust ICU service.
• Leading daily multidisciplinary ward rounds encompassing medical, nursing, and allied health teams, ensuring evidence-based and patient-centred care.
• Overseeing ventilatory management, sedation, and weaning protocols; performing endotracheal intubation, vascular access (central, arterial, dialysis lines), ultrasound guided procedures, and other ICU related practice protocols.
• Supervising advanced haemodynamic assessment and ECHO interpretation; integrating bedside cardiac ultrasound into daily decision-making.
• Liaising closely with surgical, medical, and anaesthetic teams for peri-operative and post operative critical care management.
• Delivering teaching to ICU registrars and foundation doctors on ICU related topics , procedures , and echocardiography.
• Actively contributing to audit and quality-improvement initiatives, including infection-prevention and clinical governance.
• Additionally , support the research activities running within the unit.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) is a large multi-site teaching organisation providing acute, emergency, and specialist services to a population of over 365,000 across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. The Critical Care Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary is a 12-bed mixed ICU/HDU facility offering full Level 2 and 3 care, including mechanical ventilation, advanced haemodynamic monitoring, and renal replacement therapy.
University Hospital Crosshouse hosts one of Scotland’s leading district general ICUs, serving a population of 370,000 across Ayrshire. The Critical Care Unit (20 beds) delivers mixed medical, surgical, and trauma intensive care with advanced monitoring and access to retrieval networks linking to Glasgow’s tertiary centres.
Responsibilities:
• Acting as the on-site ICU Consultant responsible for the management of all critically ill patients within the unit and emergency department.
• Leading consultant ward rounds with emphasis on multi-organ support, sepsis management, and post-operative recovery.
• Coordinating admissions, transfers, and repatriations within the Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group (SICSAG) framework.
• Supervising trainee anaesthetists and ICU registrars, with a focus on structured feedback and bedside procedural teaching.
• Supporting the Trust’s Critical Care Outreach and Resuscitation Teams, enhancing early recognition of deteriorating patients. • Participating in weekly Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) and multidisciplinary meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provided continuous consultant presence within the ICU, overseeing admissions, daily ward rounds, and clinical governance.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is one of the UK’s foremost academic health centres. Charing Cross Hospital hosts a specialist Neurosciences Critical Care Unit providing complex neuro-ICU and general medical intensive care.
Responsibilities:
• Managed high-acuity neurosurgical and neurological ICU patients including traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid haemorrhage, and neuromuscular disorders.
• Performed advanced airway management, intracranial pressure monitoring, and ventilator weaning.
• Led resuscitation and peri-operative optimisation for elective neurosurgery.
• Served as Teaching Coordinator for the ICU Department, organising weekly teaching sessions for junior doctors and nurses. • Participated in Imperial’s academic research and simulation-based training activities.
The Whittington Hospital is a busy district general and teaching hospital in Central London providing mixed Level 2/3 critical-care services across surgical, obstetric, and medical specialties.
Responsibilities:
• Delivered daily ICU care to a wide range of post-surgical and medical patients, working closely with anaesthesia and outreach teams.
• Led on rapid-response calls and unplanned admissions.
• Undertook audit and teaching activities, including morbidity-review presentations.
• Contributed to the hospital’s Quality Improvement Programme in early sepsis recognition.
Darent Valley Hospital (part of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust) is a 478-bedded acute district general hospital with a busy Emergency Department receiving over 75,000 patients annually. The department provides full 24-hour consultant cover and access to on-site trauma, surgical and medical specialties.
Responsibilities:
• Delivered frontline assessment and resuscitation of acutely unwell adults and children presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Managed a broad case-mix including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and paediatric emergencies.
• Led the trauma team during major trauma calls and coordinated multidisciplinary input.
• Initiated critical care interventions, stabilised patients for ICU transfer, and liaised directly with anaesthetic and surgical teams. • Supported clinical teaching of foundation doctors and nurses in airway and trauma management.
Al Jazeera Hospital is a 350-bed tertiary-care private hospital equipped with a 12-bed mixed ICU and an Emergency Department treating approximately 150–200 patients per day.

• Kasr Al Ainy Resuscitation Room (6 months): emergency airway and trauma resuscitation in one of Egypt’s busiest teaching hospitals.

• Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Wales (1 year): Emergency Department experience within the NHS, expanding understanding of UK systems and patient pathways.
• Ain Shams University Hospital (6 months): internal-medicine rotation including cardiology and nephrology intensive care.

I have extensive hands-on experience in the management of critically ill patients across medical, surgical, neurosurgical, and cardiac specialities My practical competencies include:
Airway Management: advanced intubation, difficult airway handling, fibre-optic techniques, and tracheostomy (percutaneous and surgical)
Ventilation: invasive and non-invasive ventilation (Optiflow, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal oxygen); ARDS management with prone positioning and advanced weaning strategies
Haemodynamic Monitoring: insertion and interpretation of central venous and arterial lines; advanced haemodynamic assessment using LiDCO, PiCCO, and oesophageal Doppler
Echocardiography: fully accredited operator (Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound, Middlesex University) Competent in transthoracic and focused trans-oesophageal echocardiography (FUSIC mentor)
Renal Replacement Therapy: initiation and management of CRRT and SLED modalities
