With over five years of experience in the NHS, complemented by an additional five years of post-graduation experience in my home country, I have developed a strong foundation in general medicine, particularly in the care of the elderly.
Throughout my NHS career, I have worked in various roles related to the care of the elderly. I spent 8 months at New Cross Hospital working on an acute geriatric ward and stroke medicine , where I gained invaluable experience in managing a wide range of geriatric conditions. Additionally, my time at Cannock Chase Hospital in rehabilitation settings, as well as a four-month HCOP rotation at Pilgrim Hospital Boston during my IMT1, further enhanced my understanding of geriatric care. These rotations provided me with a deep understanding of comprehensive geriatric assessment, frailty, and the critical importance of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach in managing complex geriatric conditions.
Additionally ,I hold an MSc in Gastroenterology from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), which underscores my commitment to continuous professional development and academic excellence.
As an IMT3 doctor, I have worked at the registrar level and gained experience in a variety of specialties, including gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, cardiology, and endocrinology. I have been actively involved in patient care through clerking, supervising junior colleagues, and participating in MDT meetings. Additionally, I have contributed to the management of Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) pathways, enhancing my ability to manage complex patient pathways efficiently.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I have completed both MRP Part 1 and Part 2 and am working towards the PACES exam. I have also been signed off for IMT3 competencies, further highlighting my readiness for specialty training. My MSc from QMUL reflects my ongoing commitment to academic growth, and I am enthusiastic about continuing to develop my skills within geriatrics.
I am excited about the opportunity to join The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust as a Trust Grade Registrar, as it will allow me to continue my professional growth and contribute meaningfully to the care of older patients. I am confident that my background in geriatric medicine, multidisciplinary teamwork, and general medicine will enable me to make a positive impact on patient care at your Trust.
