  • I have experience of working for numerous public sector clients including North and South Lanarkshire Council, East Ayrshire Council, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and various NHS sites. I have also worked on sub-contracted projects installing Cat5 and Cat6 cabling and voice cables.
  • While at SSCL I have expanded my knowledge in Fire & Intruder Systems and VOIP Systems. I have vast knowledge of voice networks and structured cabling systems including 3pr to multicore cable termination. I have worked with many brand names including Krone, Systimax and Brand-Rex and can adapt to any new environment.
  • My role has involved working in high security environments such as RBS in Edinburgh, where the highest standards are the minimum expected, confidentiality protocol is included, and professionalism is required to the highest degree. I have consistently proven an ability to complete jobs ahead of schedule, including the Rotunda project where I met deadlines despite unexpected changes. I have the flexibility and willingness to undertake overtime hours to ensure deadlines are met and have demonstrated this on various projects, including the Royal Blind project in Edinburgh which involved working extra hours to meet schedule.

Projects

Glen Turner Whiskey Distillery: Upgrading of a new IP CCTV system with installation of 6km of single mode fibre optics around the site. Including 4 new cabinet locations with splicing in Schneider Electric IP66 weatherproof enclosures, electrical equipment installation and PTZ cameras fitting., Gartnavel General Hospital: Installation of 8x 24 core single mode fibres from Gartnavel General to the Beatson comms cabinets across each floor. Spliced all fibres and tested them with the new fluke networks DSX-8000 cable analyser., New NHS Premises in Paisley: Installation of WIFI and 1,200 new brand Rex Cat6A cables for NHS premises on top of Paisley shopping centre, as well as an 8 core multi-mode fibre optic link from comms cabinets., Kilmarnock Bus Station (Fibre Relocation): Identification and re-routing of fibres from Kilmarnock bus station for refurbishment works being carried out. Joining fibres in a prysmian joint box and re-installing them., NHS Medical Practices: Adding further data outlets and liaising with customers to determine requirements and gain room access., NHS Gartnavel Blood Bank Covid Testing Machines: Installation of 200 new brand Rex Cat6A outlets in an existing NHS building for the refurbishment of labs and COVID testing machines, as well as installing and splicing a 24 core, single mode fibre between existing comms cabinets.
