CHIAMAKA IRENE MBONU

LUTON

Summary

I am a dedicated Special Education Needs teacher with experience supporting students in a variety of educational settings, including one to one support for learners with learning difficulties and behavioural needs. I have a real passion for helping individuals with communication challenges, autism, ADHD, and other health needs to grow, learn, and thrive. I am currently studying Mental Health Nursing, which allows me to combine my love for teaching with a deeper understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Working closely with students, families, and colleagues has shown me how much I enjoy making a positive difference in people’s lives. I am now looking to use my skills and knowledge in both education and mental health to support and empower vulnerable individuals.

SECRETARY

RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY
ABUJA, NIGERIA
09.2023 - 10.2024
  • After finishing my undergraduate degree in Nigeria, I started working as a secretary, which helped me gain valuable administrative and organisational experience.
  • This role was excellent for developing communication and interpersonal skills, as I was often the first point of contact for clients, managing enquires, coordinating appointments, and ensuring smooth day to day operations. I quickly learned the importance of building rapport, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering trust in professional relationships.
  • Although this role is different from the roles I am looking forward to do in the Health Care setting, many of the skills I developed as a secretary will be highly transferable. For example, when supporting individuals with various health needs, it is vital to establish trust, communicate clearly, and respect their wishes. These are values I have embraced in my everyday interactions and will continue to carry forward as I pursue a career in Mental Health Nursing.
