I am a 16 year old looking to have some experience in the Care sector. I have grown up around alot of poorly people and had my own challenges with Health and mental health. I have lost a lot of family members to a range of health problems and hate to see people suffer. If my job can help people and have a positive impact on their day or week. I am willing to train up to the needed qualifications to be able to undertake this job role, and can work with any group or age range.
I have great communication and general people skills. I find a positive in any situation and find a way to make things work with even the most challenging of clients.
From my role as a receptionist/leisure assistant I have to maintain an organised space and workload We work with a range of people if that's over the phone or in person Keeping things organised allows things to be done efficiently and if someone comes into the desk with an enquiry or over the phone I can find the correct information easily and quickly
Safeguarding and protecting a person's identity and personal information is very important in support work Sometimes we need someone to pay over the phone, we make it a policy at work to walk away from the desk so that if you do need to repeat payment information that it isn't heard by anyone We also take in thousands of personal information slips in a year If people have mental problems, past problems that they may need to note before accessing our facilities, that stuff can't be left out in the open for people to read or not organised properly and it getting misplaced or discarded
So many age groups come to our facility, if that's toddlers to elderly folk We want everyone to enjoy and want to come back to access our facilities I try my best to help out with the elderly folk because alot of booking is done online and some people don't have the technology or just don't understand how to book I always try helping out or getting the people to help with them If they are wanting to access the pool they may in documentation or tell me that they are struggling with a sore back etc and I will let a lifeguard know to keep close attention
Working as a receptionist you face alot of nice people and alot of rude There is alot going on if that's serving a customer, signing people in for a range of services, replying to emails, doing paperwork, finalising new memberships etc It takes alot of multitasking and communication skills if that's when I'm swamped with work to ask for a hand In care you need to adapt no day is the same and you are always faced with new challenges and my role at both the Cafe and Highlife highland have given me the skills to problem solve, communicate and work with people to get the best outcome for everyone
Hobbies and Interests
I have a big love for going to the gym and try everyday learning new things if that's fitness related like new workouts or new exercises to nutrition In my free time I enjoy watching crime movies or romance movies, sometimes when I'm feeling really focused I love to sit down with a good book for a couple hours to give me that time off my phone
I have a big interest in anything cooking, baking My granny always cooked for me and I understand now why she's always in the kitchen because it's so enjoyable and calming I love trying to think of new foods or new things to try make with family My little brother enjoys joining in so much, only for the sweet treats however
