Work history

Casual worker (non paid) for family business

Thorns
Harpenden, Hertfordshire
08.2021 - 12.2023

My family have always had their own businesses, which is very inspiring to me and through this, I have had exposure to the general workings in a retail environment.

During seasonal holidays, I would help out in the shop.

My responsibilities included dealing with Customers, taking and counting money, portion control, pricing up, stocking up, being vigilant, observing customer activities and being attentive to their needs.

This helped develop my communication skills, promote confidence, help me to understand money and transactions, work as part of a team and learn about stock control and ordering.

My Uncle has recently brought a cafe business in Wales, and I have an open offer of helping out during the holidays to further my skill set.
