The core aspect of my role is to guarantee the safety and well-being of prisoners in our custody while being transported to and from court hearings.

• Complete risk assessments on vulnerable or at-risk prisoners, ensuring their health, safety and well-being is a priority.
• Using empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, I can support vulnerable prisoners and those in high distress to reach a safe or calmer state of mind.
• Liaising with court authorities and other officers to ensure that all the relevant documentation and records have been completed accurately while prisoners are in the court environment.
• Maintain security and order in the courtroom and custody suite.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, effectively minimising harm and disruption, whilst remaining calm and professional during high-pressure or emotionally charged incidents, helping to defuse conflicts.
