
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993. Upon qualification, from 1993 - 2000 I worked on both female surgical, gynaecology and general surgical wards at Dudley Road Hospital, Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. During my time there I progressed from staff nurse to senior staff nurse. In 2000 I moved into community healthcare as a senior staff nurse. In this position I worked in primary care within GP practices and healthy centres. I completed general nursing duties in GP premises and patients homes. My duties also included health promotion and immunisations.
In 2002 I commenced my Specialist District nursing qualification. This also incorporated the supplementary prescribing qualification. I extended and enhanced my skills as a practitioner in community care.
I have become proficient in clinical assessment, pharmacological treatments, and holistic care planning, with a focus on health promotion and chronic condition management. Demonstrated cultural competence and effective communication skills, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues and families.
