I am an experienced Emergency Care Assistant with a strong foundation in responding to high-pressure, time-critical situations as part of a front-line healthcare team. In this role, I have developed the ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively with both patients and colleagues, and make swift, informed decisions in unpredictable and often high-stress environments. Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams has strengthened my teamwork, resilience, and situational awareness—skills that are directly transferable to the role of an on-call firefighter.
Alongside healthcare experience, I have worked as an outdoor activity instructor, where I previously held an ERCA high ropes rescue qualification. This role involved working at height, managing group safety in physically demanding environments, and maintaining a strong focus on risk assessment and emergency response. These experiences helped build confidence, leadership, and practical problem-solving abilities.
My background also includes roles in healthcare administration, finance, and retail—each of which developed communication, attention to detail, and professional discipline. Outside of work, I maintain a high level of physical fitness through competitive rugby and kickboxing, which require mental toughness and teamwork.
I am now looking to apply my combined experience in a meaningful way by serving my community as an on-call firefighter.
