I attended a work experience week during the early Summer as part of my education and careers advice programme at Ivybridge Community College, which included:


  • Trained in line rescue techniques for casualty centred rescues in HM Dockyard
  • Solved technical rescue problems swiftly, minimised disruption to operations whilst rescuing casualties to onward care e.g. hospital
  • Coordinated with other team members to smoothly rescue casualties from height or confined spaces
  • Trained for team specialist rescue techniques through effective communication and collaboration with team leader and other team operatives
  • Handled specialist line rescue equipment and daily checks to ensure fit for purpose and well maintained

Accomplishments

I am a member of the Colts Rugby Team at The Oaks at Staddiscombe. I was voted Players Player in the recent awards and I believe I am a valued and respected member of the team. I am a dedicated player, am always first to training sessions and can be relied upon for matches and all other fixtures that I am expected to attend to represent my team.


I like to be independent and am happy to get to work under my own steam through cycling, although I have just applied for my provisional driving licence and will be taking driving lessons after my 17th birthday in October.


I enjoy playing basketball for fun and fitness and often attend the Marjons Fitness Club to play this sport.


Like most young men my age I do enjoy some on-line gaming with my circle of friends.
