At Blank Street my job as a barista is to manage high-volume orders during peak hours whilst maintaining an excellent quality of service, whilst also keeping on top of hygiene and allergen standards for public health and safety compliance. My job as a barista has taught me many new skills and has allowed me to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers, to the point that i can recall names and regular orders that help to maintain rapport and loyalty with the customers.

Barback

Manchester Peaky Blinders Bar

As a bar back I supported fast-paced service by efficiently restocking glasses, ice, and garnishes so that the bartenders could effectively do their job. I learnt many new skills at this job such as how to change a beer keg quickly and how best to support coworkers in different areas of the job to better workflow.

Bartender

At Baby Platinum, my responsibilities included operating tills, bartending, and waitressing. My time at Baby Platinum helped me to learn and grow many old and new skills, which include further customer service training, and bartending skills. At Baby Platinum, I regularly dealt with difficult customers, and I have now acquired the skills to do so with ease.

Cashier

Iceland
Stafford, United Kingdom
2021.11 - 2022.05

At Iceland, my responsibilities included stocking shelves, operating the till, cleaning the shop floor, handling deliveries, and assisting the public with their shopping. I gained many skills at Iceland, such as customer service skills, till operation, and how to handle difficult customers.

Care Assistant

Agnes and Arthur
Stoke-On-Trent, United Kingdom
2019.03 - 2019.03
  • Company Overview: Dementia Care Home.

I spent five days at a dementia care home for my high school work experience. Here, I spent time with the residents and cared for them to the best of my ability.

My daily activities included talking to the residents, caring for them and helping them when needed, serving the residents their meals and drinks, and playing games with the residents to ensure that they were happy and entertained.

At Agnes and Arthur, I learned how to properly care for elderly people who need extra care, which further helped me to develop my communication skills, patience, and insight into care work and working with the public.

The job gave me a whole new perspective on care workers, volunteers, and those who persist through difficult times and have such a passion for their work.
