I am currently employed as a Catering Assistant in a primary school in Carmondean and would like to move into a clerical role within a school.
Prior to becoming a full-time mum in 2009, I gained extensive administrative experience over 25 years. During this time, I became experienced in prioritising workloads, working under pressure as part of a team and maintaining a professional and efficient approach in busy working environments.
While living in the UAE, I volunteered for approximately five years as a Residents’ Children’s Events Coordinator. This role involved organising activities and events for children of all backgrounds and communicating closely with their parents. I built great relationships within the community while strengthening my communication skills, organisation and problem-solving abilities. In addition, this opportunity improved my confidence in working with children and adults.
Whilst living in Saudi Arabia, I worked successfully as a step aerobics instructor for around four years. I also organised a large compound-wide sports fun day, which required planning, coordination and good communication skills to ensure the event ran smoothly. This was a huge success and was enjoyed by all involved.
My current role within the school has allowed me to gain valuable insight into the day-to-day running of a busy school setting. I understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality, reliability and maintaining good relationships with staff and pupils.
During the past four years in my current role, I have maintained an excellent attendance record and have never taken a day off sick, which demonstrates my commitment, reliability and strong work ethic.
I am now looking to return to an administrative role where I can combine my previous administrative experience with the knowledge and understanding I have gained while working within a school environment. I am enthusiastic, dependable, adaptable and confident in my ability to make a positive contribution to the school office team.
I am confident using general office systems and administrative processes and am keen to further develop my skills within a school office environment.
