I am currently a sixth form student who is keen to get into the world of work using my organisational skills and dedication to tasks. I am willing to learn new things and can adapt to whatever job I am needed for.
As a volunteer library assistant, my job largely involved processing returned books and placing them correctly back on the shelves, ensuring they were clean and tidy. Often, I would also be given extra tasks, such as inspecting the condition of children's books to identify those that were damaged, and wrapping books that were to be given out at a local event. From my time volunteering there, I gained valuable experience of working in an environment that required strict management, and the occasional need to interact with members of the public.
Through my role of sorting books correctly, I learnt how to organise my tasks to ensure that they were done properly and I did not make any mistakes
I would also say I learnt how to work both in a team and as an individual, as sometimes I would be working alongside another volunteer, whereas other times I would be working alone
