Summary

I am currently completing an Operating Department Practice apprenticeship at the University of Derby, with expected qualification in January 2027.

I have over five years’ experience working within South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and extensive practical experience within the perioperative environment at Warwick Hospital. My current role combines clinical practice within Theatre Services with academic study, allowing me to develop and apply evidence-based knowledge alongside practical perioperative skills.

I have experience working across main theatres and day surgery, including scrub, circulating, the anaesthetic room and patient holding areas. I have scrubbed for a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynaecology, urology, orthopaedics, ENT, colorectal and robotic surgery. I have also gained experience working on-call and within trauma and emergency theatre environments.

I am committed to providing safe, effective, compassionate and patient-centred care. I understand the importance of maintaining aseptic technique, effective communication, accurate documentation, professional accountability and adherence to policies and procedures within the operating theatre.

I am now seeking to progress into a Band 5 Scrub Practitioner position following completion of my ODP programme and HCPC registration. I am keen to continue developing my specialist scrub practice, contribute to the development of colleagues and students, and work as an effective member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary theatre team.
