Kathryn Turner

In 2010 as a newly qualified ODP when I started my employment as a Band 5 ODP in Manchester Royal Eye Hospital theatres.

Duties I carried out were:

• patient vital signs during procedures, alerting medical staff to any changes.
• Responded swiftly to emergencies with effective solutions.
• Prioritised tasks in critical situations to optimise patient outcomes.
• Developed personalised care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Quickly learned and applied new skills to daily tasks, improving efficiency and productivity.
• Successfully delivered on tasks within tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Worked flexible hours, covering nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Executed day-to-day duties with accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintained high hygiene standards by cleaning work areas and equipment.

In 2018 I became a Band 6 taking on extra responsibilities which included coordinating the department, appraisals, staff training.

In 2021 I was appointed as Band 7 Theatre Team Lead. I have the ability to inspire confidence in others , I demonstrate strong leadership qualities, acting as a positive role model to other members of the team. I have a proven ability to assist in the implementation of change and practice development. Ability to work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting within and outside the trust.
