 Dedicated and experienced professional with over 25 years of unwavering commitment to supporting individuals with learning disabilities who may also present behaviours that challenge. I am driven by a deep-seated desire to empower individuals to break the cycle of adversity and reach their full potential.  Throughout my extensive career, I have honed my skills in understanding and addressing the unique and often complex needs of the individuals I support.  In equal measures, my academic studies in psychology/forensic psychology and my own personal life experience, have led me to a transition in career focus towards mentoring and supporting individuals with learning disabilities and young people who are vulnerable to becoming involved in the criminal justice system. Although I still have much to learn in this area I bring with me a wealth of knowledge and experience that is adaptable to both adult and youth support along with unyielding commitment to creating a positive impact and promoting a brighter future for the individuals I support. 

Final-year Adult Nursing student and mature learner due to qualify in July 2026, currently on placement within the inpatient unit at St Leonard’s Hospice. Experienced across hospital, community, blood cancer, and urgent care settings, including NHS 111. Also working as a Support Worker with Mencap, developing strong communication, empathy, and person-centred care skills. Passionate about delivering compassionate, dignified care to patients and families in a hospice setting.

Starting as a support worker has helped me understand the importance of good induction, training, and ongoing support. Later as Team leader I did support new starters and apprentices, ensuring staff competence and compliance, promoting reflective practice and lessons learn, through my progression to Deputy Manager, I have developed confidence in decision-making and accountability. making safe and timely decisions, managing incidents and emergencies, being accountable for outcomes, escalating concerns appropriately and taking responsibility for service performance, working across hands on and management roles has built strong resilience and emotional intelligence, remaining calm under pressure, managing competing priorities, supporting others through challenging situations, maintaining professional standards and reflecting on practice and learning continuously My career progression from support worker to deputy manager has given me a strong, grounded understanding of health and social care at every level. I bring practical hands on experience, specialist behaviour support knowledge, and confident leadership skills. As a Registered Manager, I am committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, developing staff, and ensuring services are safe, compliant, and continuously improving.
