  • Tracked patient tissue through accurate sample receipt, logging, and monitoring in LIMS (CoPath, Cerebro, PPM+) to prevent mislabeling and missing samples.
  • Participated in internal quality control procedures and followed SOPs, preparing documentation for external quality assurance (UKAS/NEQAS) schemes to ensure ISO 15189 compliance and maintain UKAS accreditation.
  • Conducted routine maintenance, operation, cleaning, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment (e.g., tissue processors, microtomes, automated stainers, cover-slippers) to uphold optimal performance and reliability.

2024.02 - 2025.09
  • Conducted thorough quality checks on slides produced at microtomy and stained samples to ensure accuracy and clarity for diagnostic purposes. I carry out quality checks on both slides produced at microtomy and stained by me on special stains. I ensure the samples are effectively stained and cellular structures are visible under a microscope so they can be used for diagnosing clients. As well as making amendments to improve efficiency for the clients
  • Microtomy. I work efficiently sectioning cut tissue samples. Ensuring high-quality slides for pathologies to easily diagnose clients within a rapid turn-around time.
  • Special stains. I am very proficient at carrying out a variety of cellular staining on many different tissue samples, to diagnose a wide variety of possible diseases for the client.
  • Demonstrate great competency within the Laboratory by adhering to SOP’s and health and safety requirements, as well as keeping up to date with COSHH and additional training.
  • Help take care of the laboratory by cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment such as microtomes, dissection and staining stations, automated stainers, etc.
  • Greatly developed teamwork as it is essential to produce a high quality of work by improving co-operation with each station within the laboratory. As well as assisting others with jobs when my workload is light.
  • Proficient in company and Microsoft Office software to process results, store data, manage and track tasks completed, and assist in lab processes.
