So I have been part of a gym for 3 years now and it will always be the best decision I've ever made. It's the first thing in my life to give me purpose and vision because my passion has always been exercise. Although, I've never had any paid clients I have worked with numerous friends and family members who are seeking nutritional advice, workout programmes or just a general introduction to the gym.
Tk maxx was my first job I've ever obtained and it has taught me a lot. it has taught me many important characteristics in order to be successful. these include working in a team, being responsible, understanding peoples different needs and how to treat every person what is best suited for them. One thing I've always been complemented on is my customer service because I am a big people person and am always looking to make someone laugh. Dealing with so many people daily whether that be customers or co-workers has also taught me to be adaptative to my environment. as to work well with people you need to know how to treat each person to get the best out of them.
I think my best skill for being a personal trainer is my social skills and ability to motivate in a matter of 2 months I managed to get 8 of my colleagues from tk maxx to join the gym because all i do everyday is tell them how good it makes you feel Funnily one of my colleagues told me that how me in the gym and at tk maxx is so different because in the gym I'm relaxed and really nice where as in work I'm more energetic and non-stop talking
my biggest achievemnt in the gym was nothing to do with any of my personal achievemnts but what my brother accomplished He was very overweight and was struggling with very low self esteem and after a year of begging him to join the gym he turned to me and asked for my help so for the next 3 months i coached him into losing 15kg in a matter of 3 months this included nutrition advice, personalised workout programme and 1-1 sessions the biggest joy about the process was seeing someone with no exercise experience in their life completely dedicate themselves and transform their body
My other skill i posses is my knowledge about the body regarding exercise I was lucky enough to be taught by a former personal trainer himself with a PHD in sports and exercise science in my spare time I am always researching new and different methods of training and adapting my own training methods to learn what works and what doesn't and I am always willing to hear an opposing opinion because the best part about the gym is learning
