I have just completed my second year at University and am now looking for a job for the summer.
For work experience, I have worked as a second shooter at weddings, covering different areas and photographing the opposite of what the main photographer was capturing, ensuring the event was fully covered.
I also completed a work placement at a branding agency, where I did product photography for their Pets Play website, which sells toys and treats for pets. I also worked on the BMW website, updating car images and changing prices.
Most recently I worked as part of a group to set up an end of year exhibition. We had to organise the funding and secure a location, then promote the event. My main roles were fundraising and advertising though I also helped with the setup.
Now, I'm looking for a job to work hard at to earn a consistent source of income to save up for my third year of University.
Due to a change in family circumstances, for the longer weddings I stayed at home to help my mum while dad was out. I had to be present when needed, assist with moving and handling, arrange and prepare meals and help my younger sister if needed.
In the last two years, I've photographed various events, including fashion shows, award ceremonies, proms, and others. At college, I also won a photography contest for Skinny Lager, a beer brand.

Over the past few years, I have been doing wedding photography as a second shooter; this is not what I plan on doing in the future, but it is still excellent experience which has improved my confidence in talking and working with people. This can be helping out members of the bridal party or just chatting with guests.
I have also learnt how to be more professional in a workplace. Wedding photography is very fast-paced and unpredictable, requiring a lot of problem-solving during the day.
At weddings, I am responsible for looking after the equipment I'm using, photographing what I have been asked to, and using my initiative to photograph moments that I feel are an important part of the day, like people's interactions. I'm also tasked with capturing small details and working within a team.
