Date of birth: 22/10/2008
I am an aspiring student with a strong interest in medicine and medical research. My particular interest in endocrinology has been shaped by personal experience, having been diagnosed and successfully treated for growth hormone deficiency (GHD), which gave me early insight into the impact of medical research on patient outcomes.
My fascination in global health has been equally influential. Being half Zambian and having travelled extensively across Africa has exposed me to discussions surrounding infectious diseases such as malaria, bilharzia and Ebola, as well the significant inequalities in access to healthcare. These experiences strengthened my desire to pursue a career in medicinal research.
I have actively sought to explore medical topics from an early age, including independently contacting the Liverpool School of Tropical medicine to learn more about about work and research opportunities. I am a hard working, reliable and motivated individual who enjoys working collaboratively and engaging with challenging scientific ideas
