Work Experience

Larkhall Thistle F.C. - 14 Hours

I attended training sessions with Larkhall Thistle Football Club where I would perform sports massage on the athletes, preparing them for training sessions. I also attended a game where I done both pre and post event massage, using a variety of different techniques on multiple areas of the body and observed the head physiotherapist perform clinical examinations and pitch side first aid.

Petershill Stadium - 12 Hours

At Petershill, I attended two gaming sessions where I performed both pre and post massage on the football players from college teams. I carried out pitch side first aid where I treated different injuries caused within gameplay such as a burst lip, suspected ankle sprain and hamstring tear, stud injuries and head collisions.

Broadwood Stadium PFA Event - 18 Hours

I attended Broadwood Stadium for a PFA event where it gave young players whose contracts were released from their previous clubs another chance to show off their skills, in hope a scout would select them for their team. Over a 5 day period (Mon-Fri) I attended training sessions where I would perform pre and post massage on players to warm up muscles and aid recovery. I used a variety of different methods on areas such as calfs, hamstrings, quadriceps, back and groin. On game-day (Sat) I did pre/post massage and observed the head physio performing pitch side first aid and treating injuries some players obtained in a clinical environment.

Massage - 100 Hours

In my first year of my Sports Therapy HND course, I performed over 100 hours of massage on individuals from my class in a clinical environment. This gave me the opportunity to practise and perfect my massage techniques on different areas of the body and on a variety of body types, and skin types.
