I am currently studying my A-levels and am keen to enter the world of work with a part time job. While I do not have any direct experience, I often cook and clean at home, both on my own and with my family and so I am familiar with how to maintain a kitchen and also work with others in a small space to time constraint.
This is something I was recently appointed. I am in charge of organising fundraising and general events. The next event that I am planning is for culture day in november.
This was a role that was a great learning experience for me. Me along with the other prefects were in charge of running many of the events. On one occasion raised around £720 in the first 5 minutes of break due to good advertisement and a good cause. I also did a large amount of public speaking in assemblies and had to talk to everyone of all years. This enabled me to build on my public speaking skills as well as my confidence when talking to strangers.
This was a short project that I was chosen for by the school that was run by the talent foundry. The aim was to teach us about project management and they did this by bringing in members of the network rail who talked to us about their experiences and responsibilities. We learned about things like: budgeting; working with time frames; contracting and much more.
I participated in this competition to have the best wildlife conservation effort. We worked as a team to brainstorm ideas and worked together to put them in action. In the end we set up several bird-feeders on the roof to the school with plans to continually fill them up. Our team won the competition.
I have developed my communication and social skills through various experiences in school such as my most recent position of Head of Charity and Events, in which I talked to a great variety of people encouraging them to vote me for the role My time as a prefect also contributed to my communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills As prefect, I would work within a team to organise and run charity events, present during assemblies and manage the year 7 lunch queue; mediating for any issues or disputes that happened in this time
I have developed my team working skills, through various projects and activities I was chosen for the Track for the future program' set up by Network Rail This was a group project to design a train station along with all of the aspects of project management around this such as time frames or contracting outside companies This was a highly enjoyable and successful project I took part in the 'Wild-ed' preservation competition, (which our team won) where we designed and set up a bird feeding system In addition I had to successfully work within a team during a Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme expedition and I have also participated in shows during my time at Cue Drama
