RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect donations from customers
  • Updated product labelling and pricing to reflect discounts and offers.
  • Displayed promotional material on storefronts to attract shoppers.
  • Replenished floor stock and processed donation deliveries promptly, maximising product availability for customers.
  • Clean the donation items so that they are ready to be placed on the shelves for sale
  • Work with my manager to tidy up the shop before we open
  • Operated cash registers with accuracy and processed cash and card transactions.

SKILLS ACQUIRED

  • Learned to communicate well with customers because I would often get asked questions, for example, inquiries about donation deadlines

  • Communication skills-I was able to answer with confidence to the inquiries presented by customers of all ages and various backgrounds at the charity shop During a group task assigned in my first semester was able to lead and negotiate the project with my good communication skills I made sure to voice out my opinions on many subjects of discussions in a respectable and calm manner On my team, we had some international students who didn´t have English as their first language, so in recognition of this, I spoke clear, concise and simple English I believe doing this made me look approachable to the other team members
  • Adaptability-during my last year of A-levels, I managed my studies with my part-time volunteer job at a charity shop
  • Good commercial awareness
  • versatility-engaged in a wide range of responsibilities as a shop assistant at the charity shop
  • Leadership skills-I was a prefect at my sixth form, so often had to stay behind and take extra responsibilities during parent evenings and other events hosted by the school

  • Proficient at data analysis-had to do a lot of research, analysis and commenting on the authenticity of data as part of an annotated bibliography coursework assessment Also worked on mini essay in Economics A-level commenting on the correlation between different variables and the general trends present in the data

  • In my leisure time I like to watch k-dramas and read romance novels
  • I love eating savoury food so I do a lot of internet-browsing to find new recipes and try them out
  • part of the Accounting society at university
  • I enjoy watching skincare and makeup videos on Instagram and YouTube
  • I find playing dodgeball exciting
