Summary

I started Artigarvan Primary School during September 2013 where I went on and completed my 7 years with full attendance. I then moved onto secondary school at Strabane Academy where I once again completed my 6 years with Full Attendance which puts me at 14 years of full attendance so far. I done public speeches during assemblies and was in the student council at Strabane Academy. During my time at Strabane Academy I also played Rugby up to Medallion level where I was awarded back of the year whilst captaining the School football team. I am now doing my BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma with Integrated College Dungannon where I complete my A-levels and take part in school football training under LLS twice a week. During the first week of school I was awarded the role of a school prefect which means I am a role model within the school showing how positive my school work and my attitude is when it comes to leading the year and providing a good look on the School. Whilst playing football at a high level representing County Tyrone during the Super cup (Milk Cup) I played teams such as West Ham united who play in the premier league. This has given me the chance to gain a lot of valuable skills such as leadership and even dedication as I travel 4 hours up and down to my School at Dungannon. This is a prime example of my reliability when I have to put my mind to a task. I have took in charge of youth clubs when I was younger and have done over 150 hours of voluntary coaching in Dungannon including Sperrinview Special School.

Sports coach for children

LLS
Dungannon, Tyrone
2025.09 - Current

During September 2025, I started coaching around Dungannon primary schools with LLS. The two schools I primarily coach in are Howard Primary School and Sperrinview Special School. I coach at these schools twice a week.

This role is valuable to me as it allows me to work with children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. Through coaching, I have developed strong communication, leadership, patience, and organisational skills while creating positive and inclusive learning environments. Working with pupils with additional needs has enhanced my ability to tailor activities to individual requirements, build confidence in young people, and support their personal and social development. These experiences have strengthened my empathy, teamwork, and ability to build effective relationships.

The skills I have gained through coaching are highly transferable to the workplace. They have improved my ability to work collaboratively with others, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to different situations, enabling me to contribute effectively in a professional environment.
