Summary

I would say that overall I am a persistent person. when I am faced with challenge, I will always try my hardest to get back up and face it to the best of my abilities.

I like to keep myself busy with fun and interesting tasks and hobbies that can contribute to my life skills. I enjoy reading, and it is how I spend most of my evenings. I read a range of genres, from science fiction and fantasy to romance, which broadens my perspective on daily life and keeps my imagination alive.

I have completed both Bronze and Silver DofE since I enjoy collaborative and physically involved activities. DofE can teach a range of different skills such as teamwork, resilience and communication which are much needed skills in the world today.

Work history

Dental nurse (work experience)

MyDentist
Morley, Leeds
2026.07 - 2026.07

For work experience, I went to MyDentist in Morley for a week (6th-10th of July). during this week, I shadowed and observed a qualified Dental Nurse and took part in as much as I could. I was taught about how a dental surgery runs by watching patient interactions and working behind the scenes.

  • Some things that I observed were:
  • Patient comfort with empathetic chair-side manner.
  • Complex dental procedures and run of the mill examinations.
  • Watched dentists during permanent and temporary restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns and bridges.
  • Some things that I participated in:
  • Participated in education sessions increasing community awareness about dental care and prevention, such as oral cancer and anti-corruption and bribery CPD (continuous personal development).
  • Ensured adequate inventory of dental supplies to prevent operational delays (Making sure the out of date instruments are resterilised and repackaged).
  • Prepared treatment rooms prior to patients' arrival for streamlined operations. (Wiping down the surgery and getting out packaged instruments from around the room or storage)

Skills

  • Creativity and Resilience - One of my hobbies includes finding and making costumes for costumed events like comic con or even Halloween for these events, I source outfits and props for Vinted and charity shops as much as possible One of my hardest costumes to make was Bilbo Baggins from the Hobbit I got the most of the outfit (bar the ring and ears - which I have had to modify) from charity shops which shows resilience as I have to find the best possible items for authenticity This costume also shows my creativity as I have crafted the walking stick from an old broom handle by chipping and shaving it down to size, then painting it to make it look like an old stick
  • Leadership and Attention to Detail - During the May to September months, I partake in parascending competitions and scout weekends For competitions, I am in charge of taking scores and keeping an eye on windspeeds which means I need a specific attention to detail The windspeeds need watching so they don't go over and cause a faulty landing for the glider My time in scout weekends can show leadership since I have to teach the younger scouts how to properly set up a parachute, assist their peers in taking off and how to land and package the parachute back up without causing harm or damage This is something that will help towards me being able to compete my self one day
  • People Skills - I took Drama at GCSE and now I am doing a Performing Arts BTEC This subject come with lots of face to face communication and collaboration that requires a certain amount of people skills to work Performing Arts has really helped with my confidence of talking to other people and being able to make other feel comfortable as well I always strive to make as many people comfortable and satisfied as possible so that events will run smoother I try to get involved with as many people faced Performing Arts events (such as open days and concerts) as possible so I can continue to develop any and all skills that I can gain from it, but also encourage others to join in so they too can benefit I believe that having these skills will help me in any future job I have

Affiliations

  • Singing - since the start of high school, singing has always been a passion. I have taken lessons since year 7 and always tried to get involved in choirs and theatre clubs. I have gone on two choir tours with school (one to Germany and the other to Czechia) and done 5 school shows so far (year 7-12), as well as joining a theatre club out of school where I have performed in 4 different shows. My love for singing and the community has only grown since it started and I an excited for what it brings next.
